I remember my mother telling me years ago , ‘if you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you always got. ‘
She always had some kind of inspirational nugget to tell me when I was overthinking a situation or problem.
I often just let some of her wisdom slide by me without taking it to heart but it seems the older I get, the wiser I get.
Lately, I have been remembering a lot of what she told me and realizing just how clever she was even though I didn’t think that at the time.
She would tell me that the life I had in front of me will be full of opportunities and I just needed to learn to recognize them and act on them.
She said you will probably make a lot of mistakes but to always remember to learn a lesson from each and every mistake you make.
I am grateful for her wisdom now for she taught me that we are who we choose to be.
She taught me that failure is a lesson not a life sentence. Always learn something from your mistakes and never repeat the same mistake twice.
If you want something bad enough learn to ask for it. If you don’t ask for it, you definitely won’t get it.
If you are facing a setback or a problem , take a brief step back, take a deep breath and change direction, but never lose sight of your dreams and your goals.
Learn to accept that no one else is going to do it for you.
I have added to her wisdom this: the key to accomplishing your goals is not only asking for them but to be consistent, disciplined and be willing to give up some of your comfortable zones in order to achieve your desires.
Don’t get so caught up in all your everyday activities that you forget what it is that you really want.
Life is short, live your dreams and your passions. If you don’t like something, it’s in your power to change it. Remember that..... it’s in your power to change it.
